It is with heavy hearts that we inform our patients that The Jamberoo Surgery will be closing on 30th June 2025. This has not been an easy decision to make. Having started the practice nearly four and a half years ago, it has been a labour of love. However, in today’s financial climate, it is no longer sustainable for a small, independent practice to continue. The decision was not made lightly.

In the meantime, the surgery will continue to function as normal up until 30th June 2025, and we remain committed to providing high-quality care to our patients during this time.

Dr Melissa Cave , Dr Lynsey McKinstry & Dr Mais Ria will all be continuing their work at Kiama Downs Medical Practice following the closure of The Jamberoo Surgery.

We understand this news may cause disruption, and we are committed to supporting you through the transition. Please read the following important information about your ongoing care:

  • If you are happy for your full medical record to be transferred to Kiama Downs Medical Practice, please read the Welcome pack from Kiama Downs Medical Practice here for important information.
Your records will transfer to KDMP automatically on 30th June 2025 and will be free of charge.
  • If you do not want your record to be sent to Kiama Downs Medical Practice, please visit your new GP surgery before the 30th June and complete a Transfer of Medical Records form. Your new practice will then contact us directly, and we will securely transfer your full medical record to them digitally at no cost to you.
  • Dr Melissa Cave will be taking a short break and will then return to seeing her patients at Kiama Downs Medical Practice.
  • Dr Lynsey McKinstry will be available for ongoing care at Kiama Downs Medical Practice.
  • Dr Mais Ria will be available for ongoing care at Kiama Downs Medical Practice.
  • All current referrals and prescriptions remain valid. You can continue to use these as normal. All results from these referrals/forms will be sent to Kiama Downs Medical Practice unless you have transferred your care to a GP of your choice.
  • After 30th June, any blood tests or imaging (e.g. X-rays, ultrasounds, scans) will need to be followed up with your new GP. For the first 6 months following closure, we encourage you to follow up on your tests/results with your new GP of choice and not to rely solely on a recall during this transitionary period.

After the 30th June 2025, please direct any enquiries to Kiama Downs Medical Practice by emailing them here or by phone to 02 4237 7502.

Please remember to read the information pack from KDMP at this site here before 30th June 2025 for important information about appointments, care, location and feeshttps://kiamadownsmedicalpractice.com.au/jamberoo/

On behalf of Dr Cave and the entire team at The Jamberoo Surgery, thank you for your trust and support over the past four and a half years. We have loved being part of this community and wish you all the very best for the future.
